I would say that the Zelda level alone makes the Wii U version an essential purchase. On the Nintendo Wii U, Sonic Lost World added in levels based on Nights into Dreams, Yoshi and most awesomely of all, The Legend Of Zelda. I originally played the game on the Wii U and Sega did an awesome job in supporting the game with free DLC. I actually liked the exploration aspect of the game and think had they focused more on this that the parkour, Sonic Lost World could have been a very different kind of game. The gameplay is what you would expect from a typical 3D Sonic game and one thing that I do like is the way the words have a kind of cylinder feel to it. These two things are sometimes at odds with each other and the new parkour mechanics when they work are great, but sometimes you just flat outfall. One thing that this game tries to do is make levels about speed and exploration. The gameplay is what most people will criticize the game for and in some cases, I can see why.
I love the overall presentation for this game and think that they did a great job with the game in that regard. Sonic Lost World is still a fantastic looking game. At the time this was the best that Sonic the Hedgehog had ever looked.
